   WHO AM I

Born in the UK I moved to New York for a work assignment in 2010.  In 2012 rather than return to the UK I decided to remain in New York and during this process I put together a “bucket list”.

At 43 years of age I decided much to the amusement of my friends and family back in the UK that I was going to learn how to ride a motorcycle.

My parents hoped it was “ just a phase” so off I went and bought a Yamaha V Star 250.  I did the Motorcycle Safety training and passed the test.  I did my homework.... I started small.  My first group ride was with my friends from Union Garage who had a massive turnout.  Riding out of the city and across George Washington Bridge with 70 or so fellow riders was one hell of an experience and I had the biggest grin on my face.

With the " Getta your motor running blasting in my head " I was off.  The guys were very considerate, they had bigger bikes and tons of experience and I had a fantastic first group ride.

My friend Alex and I would go out and ride around and I gained a lot of confidence on the little bike.  Alex would ensure that we had a safe ride on many of the glorious smooth back roads (like route 97, 202, Rte 23, Rte 17  ) and he always made sure that if we got caught at the traffic lights he waited being a total gentleman and we always made it home before it rained...

Over the number of years that I have been riding I have met some amazing and caring individuals from the Motorcycle community who I am totally grateful for and can now call Moto fam/friends.

This website is for my family and friends and moto enthusiasts to re-live my motorcycle adventures and for me,  I look back on regularly.

There are references to my friends at Union Garage, Motorgrrl, NY Honda Yamaha and MineolaMoto and of course my family at IMRG Mineola.

All have spent hours with me, providing their experiences and have seen my journey and my love of motorcycles take shape.

I hope you enjoy the adventures

Until then, ride safe, Keeps x
