I have had a bee in my bonnet as they say for some time now having got the motorcycle bug. Moto camping was great fun but badass wasn't making the loading and unloading comfortable. I also wanted desperately to explore this amazing country and needed a Sport Explorer.
After test riding the BMW GS600 and the Triumph Explorer being a Yamaha girl I went for the new FJ-09 Sport Adventure bike recently launched this year by Yamaha. A buddy of mine had FJ in the red and very kindly let me sit on it.
This bike was again a totally different experience to the Bolt. My feet and seating position are totally different and its taking me a lot of time to get used to it. After two weeks I dropped the bike (groan.....) I put my foot down at the top of a hill and put my left foot straight into a pot hole. BANG the bike went and I went over too. I was more annoyed at myself and the row of cars behind me who all just sat and watched in amazement as I clambered back on to my feet and bench lifted the bike up right !
Proud bruised and my left leg too but I immediately forgot those and looked at FJ. FJ had scars too!
I have since had the bike lowered and have got my confidence back! Fj and I have now been getting far more acquainted and the scars both on me and on the bike will tell the story.
This is the day that I took collection of FJ
